Howdy!

We’ve had reports of iPhones and iPads unable to access or view YouTube Videos and would like to assure that we are doing our best to fix this problem. As part of the steps we took to solve this, we sent a support ticket request to LearnDash Course Management System (whose system we acquired and is currently using). We’ve also Googled for answers regarding “YouTube Videos Not Working on iPhone and iPad”.

Apparently, the problem is not a unique issue with Barrel Racing College. There were plenty of results and one search string we did could be found here. The best solution we found is copied below. Among the three items listed, we believe solution number 3 is the one that could solve our problem.

Common Issues and Solutions to Fix YouTube Not Working on iPhone

1. YouTube on iPhone not working with message “playback error tap to retry”.

For some users, resetting the phone and restarting it after that help to get rid of the problem. To get rid of the problem, you need to hold down the sleep button and the home button together. The phone will be switched off. Now, turn it on again. In around 99% of the cases this should solve the issue and you should be able to use YouTube in your device without any interruption. In case, this trick does not help, try restoring the phone’s iTunes.

2. Video not being played on Safari with message “sorry, this video is not available on this device.

There are certain videos that are not meant for the mobile version of the browser. In such a situation, if you are planning to watch those videos on iPhone, the videos might not play and you might see a message like that. There is a way you can fix that and can watch all videos on YouTube. If you are using YouTube videos on Safari, you must make it a point to do the following:

  • Press the 3 lines on the top, left side of the phone.
  • Now you should scroll down to the bottom.
  • Once you are there, you need to select the desktop version.

By doing these steps you are actually changing YouTube videos from the mobile version to the desktop version. By doing this you will be able to transform the mobile version of the videos into the desktop version and play those. It should work. By doing this, you will be able to watch all videos in YouTube.

3. When watching YouTube embedded videos on iPhone, you get nothing but only black screen.

If you are not using a jailbroken phone, watching YouTube channel is not much of a problem. All you need to do is to open the “Settings”. From the settings you go to “General” and from there choose “Restrictions”. Check whether the option of the YouTube app is set “On”. After doing this, if you try to view a website page containing an embedded video, you should be able to see it without any interruptions.

If in case none of these fixed your problem, or you are having a hard time following the instructions, please don’t hesitate to contact us so we can upgrade this post and include some screenshots.

Have a great barrel racing day!
